The Mapleroc Roll Converting Center is a new, patented system that significantly advances paper converting technology. It rapidly resizes paper rolls and paper-related products into press-ready rolls with an automated precision one-step cutting process.

The total elapsed cutting time for a 50-inch roll: 3 minutes. Cut accuracy during the process is within 60 thousandths of an inch on every cut. With the Mapleroc Roll Converting Center you can easily and quickly convert rolls up to 132 inches wide and up to 60 inches in diameter. With single cuts taking only 3 minutes, the Roll Converting Center gives you the capability to process up to 4 to 6 rolls per hour with a single cut. It processes converting rolls at a rate that is 300% faster than conventional rewinders which, on average can process only one roll per hour.

Requiring only one operator, the Roll Converting Center can make multiple cuts in a single cut cycle. Data about the roll cut-specifications is scanned or input manually by the operator on a touch-screen with a menu system displaying specific pre-set cutting parameters for the customer’s grades and finishes. The ability to store accurate specifications in the Roll Converting Center’s control system saves training and costly production errors.

During the cutting process, over 500 operating points within the Roll Converting Center are constantly monitored to assure optimum performance. Overlaying the entire system is a complete Internet-based roll and data collection capability. It provides immediate access to information about cut rolls and also flags maintenance issues for Mapleroc’s engineers who can immediately access the Roll Converting Center remotely to maximize your operating uptime.
